CO Detectors
Carbon monoxide or CO poisoning is the leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in America.*
It’s an odorless, tasteless, invisible gas formed from incomplete combustion from any flame-fueled
(not electric) device, including ranges, ovens, clothes dryers, furnaces, fireplaces, grills, space
heaters, vehicles and water heaters. When present in high levels and not properly vented, it is
inhaled, passes from the lungs into red blood cells, and starves the body of oxygen. This can result
in unconsciousness, possible permanent brain damage, and even death.
